The 2003 Leatherboy currently resides in the Midwest. He has traveled extensively over the past several years. He has supported several AIDS related charities in the Midwest region of the country and the American Diabetes Association that has affected many of his family members.

His platform for his title year was, "Be a Mentor - Support a Mentor".

Parting Words

During this year, my message became - "Be a Mentor!" Being an International Title holder puts you on the road with a unique group of Leathermen and Leatherwomen. I have been blessed to have that opportunity, but it also places a responsibility on a titleholder. We get to see what's ailing the community on a very large scale and what I have personally seen is the need to go back to the roots of the community by reaching out and mentoring those who want to become the Leatherman or woman inside but do not know how. Granted, traditions and protocols may have evolved over time, some out of social change and some out of necessity. Don't let change deter us from allowing the next generation from taking the journey, which we hold so dearly within ourselves.

REMEMBER, IT TAKES JUST AS MUCH COURGE TO TAKE SOMEONE'S HAND AS IT TAKES FOR THEM TO REACH OUT WITH THAT HAND. Be kind to each other and take care of each other. That is what will keep our leather tribe alive and well. I will remain here in service to my community and if you need me, all you need to do is call.

Master Mike, you are a wonderful and beautiful man. I will love you deeply 'til the very last breath I take. You taught me so many things that I will carry proudly in my life and would have never had this incredible experience if not for your teachings and mentorship. I will love you forever and always SIR!
