Florida LeatherSIR 2005

I started participating in the Leather Community when I was in my early 20s and enjoyed the opportunity to grow in leather with influences in Chicago, Cincinnati, Denver, Dallas and Minneapolis. Since I have been back in South Florida, it¹s been a pleasure to be a part of South Florida chapter of the NLA, as well as, the Bondage Club. After years affiliated with professional piano performance and executive administration, I am pleased to be in the process of publishing my first book. Last year, I made a decision to become a more active member of the Leather, BDSM Community. The benefit to that choice was a blessing allotted to me with my boy Lee. With the two of us employed in the leather industry, we have been able to become a working part of the scene.

Florida Leatherboy 2005
Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA

I was called into the leather community five years ago when I was living in Chicago, a relocation assigned to me by a design firm I was working for at the time from Miami. What better way to have begun my journey of self discovery and sexual expression than by an invitation to IML by my landlord Jim, who lived above me in our duplex. The only description that can sum up his appeal is a Tom of Finland sketch of a "leather daddy lumber jack". I don't know if that can give you a mental image, but if I were Tom, Jim would be in my sketch book in more than one pose. Jim's invite meant a great deal to me because I had known him for a few months and besides having a crush on him, had grown to greatly respect the man because he was a loving, kind, and had a generous soul, who in his own way took me under his wing and showed me the value of what it truly meant to be a leather man. Without him saying it, I knew by his example it was all heart. He bought me my first leather vest that night at IML, a garment of leather till this day I wear proudly. When I was once again relocated, this time to Fort Lauderdale, a home to a great number of Leather Community members, I took it upon myself to get into the leather scene by frequenting the Ramrod and befriending several members of there staff. I later became a member of the Ramrod family and took up the position as security. I have also participated in Miami's AIDS walk representing leather men and woman and have participated in local fundraisers for those in the Leather Community who have fallen on hard times. I am greatly honored and proud to be a participant at the International LeatherSIR/boy Competition this year.
