Mike Kelly (contact)
Northern California LeatherSIR 2005
Sacramento, California, USA

Daddy Mike began sucking cock as a teenager in college, in 1974. He started playing BDSM games in Los Angeles in 1980. Mike began experimenting with public BDSM in San Francisco with the pansexual community in the mid 1980s and joined the Society of Janus in 1995. In 1996, he began volunteering at the Folsom Street Fair, helping to set up, operate and take down the booth for Under One Roof, the non-profit fundraising store on Castro Street that benefits the AIDS Community, which he has done every year since then.
Mike came out in 2000, after years of closeted guilt, as so many of his friends died in the epidemic. He came out in New Orleans while in leather after spending too much time at the Phoenix and Oz. He prays for those who created that safe space for him in that city. Mike currently serves as the Dungeon Master for the Sacramento Valley Leathermen and chairs the SVL Education Committee, which offers free classes on safe BDSM activities on the first Thursday of every month. Recently he negotiated with the owner of a Sacramento pansexual dungeon to create a Men Night at the local dungeon, which is sponsored by the Sacramento Valley Leathermen. Mike is an attorney in Sacramento, California, a member of the Leather Archives and Museum and is proud of his boy, dave, who has been collared to him for 4 years.

Darryl Strohl (contact)
Northern California Leatherboy 2005

Darryl Strohl has been a member of Sacramento Valley Leathermen (SVL) for less than a year, yet has jumped head-first into the group's fundraising activities. His biggest thrill to date has been marching in the 2005 San Francisco Pride Parade, leading the leather contingent and bearing the rainbow flag. Recently, Darryl led a session of SVL's monthly Educational Series which enlightens the community on how to keep sex safe while keeping it hot. Locally, Darryl is also active with the Sacramento Valley Bears and the Sacramento Men's Chorus. Darryl's first experience in a leather bar was six years ago at the D.C. Eagle. Wearing leather shorts and boots bought that afternoon, he nervously walked into the bar alone. Of course he did not leave alone, but that¹s a story for another time...the boy was hooked! He makes a priority of seeking out the local leather bar whenever he goes to a new city, whether on vacation, business trips or Xmas break. Darryl came out while living in Norfolk, VA and was actively involved in fundraising for AIDS service organizations and other charities. The toughest job he ever loved was as a client services coordinator for the Tidewater AIDS Crisis Taskforce. Through this work, he came into contact with the full spectrum of gay experience (from drag queens to leather daddies, transsexuals to log cabin republicans) which enkindled his love of diversity.
