I was born in a US Army Hospital and was raised as an army brat around the world. I had my first real pair of boots in 3d grade a pair of black engineer type boots, and my first cowboy boots in 4th grade, so I guess some things can start young. In the environment I was raised, discipline and obedience were a big part of everyday life and the necessity of earning the right to give orders, and that there was NO one so high ranked that he did not take orders from some one else.

I went through Army ROTC in college in Southern California and served two years on active duty trained at Ft Benning Georgia, as an infantry officer. I left active duty with the rank of lst Lieutenant, having served at Ft Leonard Wood Mo., supporting the Infantry Basic Training Mission of that post. Shortly after I let active duty I became involved with a cowboy in Arizona and have spent the rest of my life in some form or another of cattle and agricultural businesses. That was also where I learned a little bit more about a whole different branch of leather than army boots and a little bit about ropework.
