Bootblack Toronto 2008
International Community Bootblack 2008
Toronto, ON, Canada
Black-Jack credits being born into a large Irish-Italian family of police officers, for his life-long love affair with all things boots! Some of his best memories are the times spent learning the art of bootblacking and leather care from his dad. As time passed, and Jack's interest in riding horses and motorcycles grew, so did his passion for providing a spirited spit-shine to the boots worn during these activities. Now, as an integral part of his Leather journey, bootblacking not only affords Black-Jack the opportunity to enjoy doing something he really loves, but more importantly gives him the chance to meet new and interesting people. Whether in private or public, Black-Jack's on-going goal is to provide a quality serviced pair of boots and a knowing smile of satisfaction to all who sit in his chair.
As a familiar face in Toronto's Leather scene for the past two decades, this father of two and human resources specialist enjoys being an active participant within the community at large. Jack has volunteered with, and raised funds for, AIDS service agencies such as Fife House, Toronto PWA Foundation, and Casey House Hospice. This past year, Black-Jack was a part of the team of MLTC titleholders whose community work included raising funds for the AIDS Committee of Toronto, stressed the importance of BDSM education, and also actively endeavoured to increase the awareness of bootblacking. In addition, Jack proudly holds memberships with MLT, Spearhead Toronto, The Central Canada Gay Rodeo Association, The Rochester Rams, and Delta International.
