To the ILS/b Board, Sponsors, Regional and Local Titleholders, and the Leather Community at Large,
It is my duty to announce, with a heavy heart, that Michael Congdon will be "stepping aside" from his title as International LeatherSIR 2005 to resume his prior title as Northwest LeatherSIR 2005. Michael’s resignation has been received and accepted by the board members of DCI Productions. The Southeast LeatherSIR 2005, Dexter Edmond, now succeeds to the title of International LeatherSIR 2005, effective immediately. On behalf of the entire ILS/b organization, I wish to express my confidence that Dexter and his title boy, International Leatherboy 2005 Mike "Stallion" Fry (along with International Community Bootblack 2005 Shawn Patrick Finnerty) will complete the journey that they began with Michael this year, bringing great honor and credit to themselves, the Regional titleholders and sponsors, and the entire ILS/b family.
Winning an international title just three months after entering his first leather contest, Michael recently informed me and the ILS/b board that he was overwhelmed with the task of juggling his titleholder responsibilities with his work responsibilities and personal commitments. The extensive travel duties of an International LeatherSIR titleholder, which are so important to maintaining the strong relationships that ILS/b Regional titleholders and sponsors enjoy, proved to be more demanding than Michael anticipated. The entire ILS/b family would be shortchanged if he were unable to attend most of the Regional contests, which our Regional sponsors expect and deserve. Michael quickly discovered, after winning his title, that he did not have sufficient flexibility in his work and personal life to satisfy the requirements of his title at this time.
In his resignation, Michael wrote: "...After considerable thought and deliberation, I have come to a solution which I hope will be a win-win situation for everyone involved, which is to step down as International LeatherSIR and return to my title as Northwest LeatherSIR. I believe that I can pursue a strong year within the Northwest region and still show my support to ILS/b and the leather community at large - only on a smaller scale. I would like to thank everyone who has given me this opportunity for personal growth, all of those who have offered me support over the last 3 months and finally to the Centaurs MC and the Dallas Flesh & Fantasy Board for showing gracious and honest hospitality."
On behalf of DCI Productions, I wish to thank Michael for his courage and honesty. Although he is stepping down from the International title, he will continue to serve an important role in the ILS/b family as Northwest LeatherSIR 2005. I am proud and honored that Dexter Edmond has accepted our invitation to advance to the title of International LeatherSIR 2005. As the Regional contests get into full swing this spring and summer, Dexter will prove that he is truly worthy of the title which he now assumes. Dexter, stallion a nd Shawn will form a strong team that will bring our regions together in a strong leather brotherhood throughout the remainder of the year.
