International LeatherSIR / Leatherboy Contest Comes to Dallas - October 5 - 8, 2006P R E S S R E L E A S E
April 19, 2006, Pittsburgh - Mike Zuhl, President of DCI Productions, Inc., has officially announced that the International LeatherSIR and Leatherboy Contests will be held at the Crowne Plaza Dallas Market Center in Dallas, Texas on October 5 through 8, 2006. The International Community Bootblack contest will also be held during the weekend. Weekend packages are on sale May 1, 2006 for $139.00 by calling Mike Zuhl at 412-889-9605 (10 am - 10 pm Eastern). For more information about weekend events, visit www.LeatherSIR.com. Hotel reservations for ILSB will begin May 1. Special negotiated room rates are available for weekend package holders only for $75.00 per room night. To make hotel reservations and obtain the ILSb 2006 rate, you must first obtain an ISLB Weekend Package. The staff, Regional sponsors, and contestants are excited about the move to Dallas! The Crown Plaza is a premium hotel in the heart of gay-friendly Dallas, home to the Texas State Fair, Mesquite Rodeo, Dallas Eagle, Dallas Boys of Leather, Discipline Corps, and many other gay- and leather-oriented organizations. Dallas is a metropolitan city that is easily accessible by air and ground transportation, boasting many exciting attractions for guests of the International LeatherSir and Leatherboy contests. This new location will attract local attendance from one of the strongest gay and leather communities in the United States. The move to Dallas will greatly expand the opportunity for DCI to bring this long-running leather contest to a wide audience of leather men and women. As always, the focus of the International LeatherSir and Leatherboy contests is squarely on the contestants, who have been competing in local and Regional contests all over the United States and Canada. Already there have been Regional contests in the Florida and South Central regions. Additional Regional contests are scheduled to take place this summer in the Northwest, Northern and Southern California, Great Lakes, Great Plains, Southeast, Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Eastern Canada and Southwest regions. Many regions are also sponsoring bootblack contests, leading to the International Community Bootblack contest. Many of the weekend events will take place at the Crowne Plaza Dallas Market Center, a 354-room hotel with indoor pool area and complete amenities. The contest itself will be held on the grounds of the nearby Dallas Eagle leather bar. DCI Productions has negotiated very favorable room rates with the Crowne Plaza, available only to guests who purchase weekend packages for the event. The Crowne Plaza is located just minutes from the Dallas airports (DFW and Love Field) and a few blocks to the Cedar Springs gay entertainment district and fashionable shopping areas.
