Lonie "Cisco" McGowan and Ray Rivera named 2006 Northeast LeatherSIR and Leatherboy

June 18, 2006 - The Northeast LeatherSIR and Leatherboy Competition was held on June 16, 2006 at The NYC Eagle. Robert Valin, Mr. Eagle NYC, 2005 emceed the evening. Sponsors for the event included The NYC Eagle, The Leather Man NYC and ID Lubricants. Sir Dexter Edmond, International LeatherSIR 2005 was the head judge. Everyone was also treated with the visits by Jessi Holman-Ahart, International Ms. Leather 2005 and Bo Ladashevska, International Mr. Leather 2006. This was Bo's first US appearance since winning the title in Chicago. Both Dexter and Bo spoke inspiringly to the crowd as well.

There was one contestant for each category, LeatherSIR and Leatherboy. Lonie "Cisco" McGowan of Jersey City, New Jersey was the Sir contestant. While Ray Rivera of Hamden, Connecticut was the boy contestant. Since there was only one contestant each, both contestants had to garner at least 80% of the total points available to win.

The contestants faced off in four judging categories. The first category was a private interview with a panel of seven judges that included Sir Dexter Edmond - International LeatherSIR 2005; Amanda "Pup" Ferral - Ms NJ Leather & American Leather Woman 2005; Jeff Bridges - NorthEast LeatherSIR 2005; Alex Blevins - NorthEast Leatherboy 2005; George Peet - Mr Connecticut Leather 2005; Sal Susino - Producer Mr. & Ms. NJ Leather contest; and Sir Larry of Master And slaves Together (MAsT), NYC. During the interviews the contestants fielded questions ranging from what they were into sexually to their involvement with the leather/SM community. The on-stage competition consisted of a leather image/speech category, a jock strap category, and a fantasy where each contestant acted out their sexual desires based on this year's Northeast Regional theme: Edge Play.

After all the scores from these four categories were tallied it was announced to a standing room only crowd that Cisco achieved enough points to become the 2006 Northeast LeatherSIR and that ray rivera had won the title of 2006 Northeast Leatherboy.

Cisco and ray will go on to represent the Northeast Region at the International LeatherSIR and Leatherboy Competition that will be held in Dalla, Texas over Columbus Day Weekend in October. They will compete alongside the winners of 12 other Regional contests that will be occurring throughout the coming months.
