Great Lakes LeatherSIR / Leatherboy / Community Bootblack Results

Aug 30, 2006, Indianapolis, IN - The Great Lakes Leather Alliance held its annual event this past weekend in Indianapolis, Indiana. This was the fifth year anniversary and the weekend was a huge success. The host hotel was sold out and a nearby overflow hotel held those unable to get into the host hotel at the Ramada. With almost 400 registered attendees, 24 workshops, a poolside Master/slave auction raising almost $3,000 for the travel fund of the winners, a silent auction raising almost $1,000 for the travel fund, and raffles/silent auction raising almost $1,000 for the Leather Archives & Museum the weekend proved to be profitable for our community.

The winners of the Great Lakes contests were:

  • Great Lakes LeatherSIR 2006 - Sir Stephen Seefeldt of Milwaukee, Wisconsin
  • Great Lakes Leatherboy 2006 - boy brent of Evansville, Indiana
  • Great Lakes Ms Leather Pride 2006 - Lady Justice of Columbus, Ohio
  • Great Lakes Bootblack 2006 - Spot of Lansing, Michigan
  • Great Lakes Master/slave 2006 - Sergeant Major & riches of Minneapolis, Minnesota
  • Great Lakes LeatherSIR 2007 - Sir Joee Arteaga of Chicago, Illinois
  • Great Lakes Leatherboy 2007 - boy doug Massey of Columbus, Ohio

Sir Stephen and boy brent will be representing the Great Lakes Region in competition at International LeatherSIR/Leatherboy in Dallas the weekend of October 5 - 8, 2006. Sir Joee and boy doug will compete at International LeatherSIR/Leatherboy in 2007. Sergeant Major & riches will be competing at International Master/slave in Dallas in February 2007. The Great Lakes Ms Leather Pride and the Great Lakes Bootblack will chose where they will compete.

Thank you to everyone that made the GLLA weekend a success. With cocktail parties, human food tables at the victory party and fountain champagne punch, hosted breakfasts, late night impromptu pool parties, etc added to the enjoyment of the weekend. A big thank you to all the clubs that sponsored events during GLLA weekend. The clubs sponsoring events at GLLA weekend were: LIFE Detroit, IMas of Indiana, The Reformatory & Sarah Vain, The Argonauts, Greg's Place, The Bears of Indy, the Sissies from all across the country, as well as many individuals that contributed to making the weekend very enjoyable for all those that attended.

GLLAs' new hotel proved to be a winner for the weekend, as the hotel was very accommodating and kept the restaurant open in the hotel until 3 am each night of the event. The entire hotel was closed off to the public with the marque in the front of the hotel saying, "Welcome Great Lakes Leather Alliance." The hotel flew the leather pride flag all weekend. This was a first for our City.

Great Lakes Leather Alliance has certainly come a long way since it's humble beginning just five years ago. The dates have been set for 2007. The GLLA 2007 will be held the weekend of August 23 - 26, 2007. We hope everyone will plan to join us next year as we continue to make GLLA better than ever!
