Southwest LeatherSIR, Leatherboy 2008 ResultsP R E S S R E L E A S E
Mar 04, 2007, Phoenix - On Saturday, March 1, 2008, a panel of five judges selected boy Stephen P as the new Southwest Leatherboy for 2008, Doug G as Southwest LeatherSIR 2008, both hailing from the great state of Arizona. The contest was held at Bunkhouse Saloon during the Southwest Leather Pride 2008 weekend. The judges for this year’s contest were J.D. Laufman, Boot Pig, Joseph Brumley, boy Francisco SW Leatherboy 2007 and Michael Villarini SW LeatherSIR 2007. In addition to the "regular" duties of these titleholders (fundraising, attending leather events and contests, judging, representing the community), they will also be ambassadors for the Southwest portion of the United States. Southwest Leather Pride Weekend is a celebration of the bond of Leather families. It is a weekend filled with great energy and camaraderie which surround the weekend and our leather groups and clubs and businesses. 
Southwest Leather Pride 2008 included a kickoff party at Apollo’s Lounge, Jail Cell Party hosted by the Arizona Men of Leather at the Bunkhouse Saloon, Pre-Contest Cocktail Party at Plazma, the first annual Southwest Leather Formal Dinner at Mothers Restaurant hosted by Tuff Stuff Leatherwear, the Southwest LeatherSIR/boy contest was held at the Bunkhouse Saloon, and a "Final Sling Brunch" hosted by the Arizona Women of Leather at Friends Bar. It was a large leather party throughout the weekend for all the attendees of the weekend. The Imperial Court of Arizona were on hand to provide entertainment throughout the weekend. Miller Light and Elbow Grease were this year’s corporate sponsors. This year’s Bob DeJardine Leather Pride Award was awarded to Arizona Men of Leather and the Keith Tomlinson Individual Community Service Award was given to Sandy LaFrance of the Arizona Women of Leather.
