Southwest LeatherSIR 2011 Bill Mitchell and Southwest Leatherboy 2011 boy Robert Torrance

Phoenix, AZ, Mar 13, 2011 - On Saturday, March 5, 2011, a panel of seven judges selected Bill Mitchell Southwest LeatherSIR 2011 and boy Robert Torrance as the new Southwest Leatherboy for 2011. The contest was held at Bunkhouse Saloon during the Southwest Leather Pride 2011 weekend. This year's events were produced by Keith Tomlinson & Don Hilton. The judges for this year's contest were Sir Hugh International LeatherSIR 2010, Red Warrior International Community Bootblack 2010, Wayne Davis Southwest LeatherSIR 2010, Sir Miles California LeatherSIR 2010, Stephen Palaschak Southwest Leatherboy 2008, Byron Marlow Southwest Leatherboy 2005, BootPig Ms. Olympus Leather 2004. In addition to the "regular" duties of these titleholders (fundraising, attending leather events and contests, judging, representing the community), they will also be ambassadors for the Southwest portion of the United States. Southwest Leather Pride Weekend is a celebration of the bond of Leather families. It is a weekend filled with great energy and camaraderie which surround the weekend and our leather groups and clubs and businesses.

Southwest Leather Pride 2011 included the Button Fly & Cigar Party at Apollo's, Bulge Black Out Party Bunkhouse, and The Dirty Secret Black Party at Velocity, the Southwest LeatherSIR/boy contests Bunkhouse Saloon, and The Last Sling Leather Brunch at the Bunkhouse. Highlights of the Leather Weekend included a leather maze constructed of hidden corners, rooms, and holes to enter (if you know what I mean) The Chute provided play parties through out the weekend for all the attendees of the weekend. This years Bob Dejardine Leather Pride Award was awarded to Desert Knight News for their overwhelming support to the leather community in Phoenix and nationwide. The Keith Tomlinson Community Service Award went to Patrick Kelley. Weekend Sponsors included Miller Lite, My Mothers Restaurant, Tuff Stuff Leather, Apollo's, Bunkhouse Saloon, Velocity, Off Chute Too, The Chute, Desert Knight News, Arizona Men of Leather and Leather Masters.
